Rick Taylor
Rick Taylor has served on the Board of Trustees for Montgomery County Community College since 2019. He is a proven leader in both the public and private sectors that has dedicated his career to helping others succeed. Rick currently serves as Global Head of Total Rewards at Adare Pharmaceuticals. Prior to this role, he worked at Sun Pharmaceuticals and Teva Pharmaceuticals in various leadership positions in human resources.
Rick is a former Pennsylvania State Representative. He spent four years representing the 151st legislative district, which encompassed Ambler, Horsham, Montgomery Township, and portions of Abington, Lower Gwynedd, and Upper Dublin, in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. He served on the Finance, State Government, Veterans & Emergency Preparedness, and Insurance committees. In addition, he was a member of the Community College Caucus. He has also previously served as a councilman for the Borough of Ambler.
On the Board of Trustees, Rick regularly draws on his experience as a state representative by leveraging his knowledge of local legislature and how it relates to education to best serve Montgomery County Community College. He graduated from Cornell University with a Master of Industrial and Labor Relations degree. Before that, he earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota and associate’s degree from Lakewood Community College.
Rick has previously taken classes at Montgomery County Community College himself and his son is a proud graduate of the College. What he appreciates most about the school is that it has resources for individuals of all backgrounds, no matter what their academic goals.
In his spare time, Rick enjoys traveling, studying history, and keeping up on current affairs. His biggest piece of advice for students is to remember that “education is not a means to an end; it is a journey.”
