Fall is here! As the leaves change color and the temperature begins to drop, Montgomery County Community College is excited to celebrate the season by inviting prospective students and their families to its fall open house events at its Blue Bell and Pottstown campuses.

The first open house event begins at Pottstown Campus, 101 College Drive, Pottstown, Saturday, Oct. 19, from 10 a.m. to noon in South Hall Student Commons. The College will then host an open house event on Blue Bell Campus, 340 DeKalb Pike, Blue Bell, Saturday, Oct. 26, from 10 a.m. to noon, beginning in the Montco Cultural Center theater, located in the Science Center building.

Michael Harcum, Director of Admissions and Recruitment, said the College is looking forward to highlighting its renovated facilities on both campuses including South Hall, the Montco Cultural Center, the Health Sciences Center suites, the esports pavilion and more.

“We are a key regional partner,” he said, “committed to serving the educational, workforce, and cultural needs of our students and communities.”

Each open house event will allow visitors to explore MCCC’s beautiful facilities and classrooms, and learn about its 100+ programs of study, 30+ transfer partners and its wraparound supportive services.

During the Pottstown event, visitors will be able to see the Wellness Center, machine shop, student theater and Sound Recording and Music Technology (SRT) studio in North Hall.

At Blue Bell Campus, the event begins in the theater, which is part of the Montco Cultural Center, which includes all of the arts and cultural programming and venues across both campuses.

From there, visitors can visit the Advanced Technology Center, featuring the state-of-the-art recording center, The Mix Room at Montco, recording studios, Montco Radio and the TV studio.

Visitors will also be able to view the progress on the incoming Hospitality Institute, which is slated to open during the fall semester for students in the Baking and Pastry, Culinary Arts and Tourism and Hospitality Management programs.

Harcum encouraged fall open house attendees to also connect with faculty members throughout the morning during their visit.

Open house visitors will also receive information about MCCC’s flexible programming, educational opportunities and meet with representatives from student services organizations including Athletics, Student Life, Dual Enrollment, ACT 101 Scholars Program/ Partnership on Work Enrichment and Readiness Program, Keystone Education Yields Success Upward Bound, Veteran Services, Career & Alumni Engagement, Wellness Center, Adult Learner/Prior Learning Assessment, English as a Second Language, Libraries & Academic Support, International Students, Dental Hygiene (DHG) Clinic Services, DHG Students, Financial Aid, Equity, Diversity, and Belonging, Enrollment services, Academic Advising and Workforce Development.

Lastly, at each open house, students and families can learn how MCCC makes college education affordable and accessible for everyone. Students who earn their associate degrees at a community college and transfer to a four-year school can see a substantial tuition savings.  Beyond lower tuition rates, MCCC also awards more than 500 scholarships a year.
