In an effort to offer critical child and early learning services to students and the neighboring community, Montgomery County Community College (“MCCC”) and the Greater Philadelphia YMCA (“The Y”) will open a new center on campus this fall.

Located on the Blue Bell Campus at 340 DeKalb Pike, Blue Bell, PA 19422, this center will have capacity to serve more than 80 children on a daily basis, offering the safe, quality, trusted child care of the YMCA, America’s #1 provider. This care will be made available to students, employees and the local community at affordable rates. What’s more, the center will offer an array of registration options, including 3-day options and more. The center is expected to open for the fall semester.

The Y Early Learning Center at MCCC combines quality child care with the enrichment experiences of a preschool for children ages 2 to 5 years. The center will serve children on a space-available basis. The center features low teacher/child ratios, a nationally recognized curriculum, highly qualified teachers, free meals and snacks, free Youth Memberships to the local YMCA and financial assistance for families who qualify.

Families interested in learning more, or reserving space, can contact the YMCA Child Care team by phone at 215-220-9199 or through email.

“Quality child care is an essential service for everyone in the community. It enables parents to fully participate in the workforce or higher education. It allows employers to enjoy the full engagement of their teams. And, of course, it prepares children for a lifetime of success. It is, by far, one of the most important things we do at the Y, and we take great pride in providing that service with high standards and low impact to families’ finances,” says Jen Segelken, Vice President of Youth Development for the Greater Philadelphia YMCA.

We are extremely pleased to collaborate with the Greater Philadelphia YMCA to offer quality, affordable child care that is conveniently located here on our Blue Bell Campus,” said Phil Needles, Vice President of Engagement and Student Experience. “It will greatly benefit the children, our students and employees as well as the community.”
