Montgomery County Community College hosted an American Red Cross Blood Drive and Community Wellness Fair May 27, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the North Hall building of its Pottstown Campus, 16 W. High Street, Pottstown.
Participants donated more than 25 pints of blood, saving approximately 75 lives. According to the Red Cross website, every two seconds someone in the United States needs blood. Donations are used for surgeries, cancer treatment, chronic illnesses and traumatic injuries.
The Community Wellness Fair featured several community health organizations including Tower Health Behavioral Health and Primary Care Resources, Community Health and Dental, Mishock Physical Therapy, YWCA Tri-County Area, 360 Coaching for Life, Diabetic Education by Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist Debbie Zlomek and Tri-County Health & Wellness Center. The event was free and open to the community.
