The TriCounty Area Chamber of Commerce celebrated its 95th anniversary during its annual dinner event on April 27 at RiverCrest Golf Club and Preserve in Phoenixville by honoring members with special awards and recognition throughout the evening.

The evening started with current and emeritus TCACC members offering a champagne toast to all members. State Senators Bob Mensch and Katie Muth presented a citation to the Chamber, acknowledging TCACC’s service to the community and its ongoing contribution to society for nearly a century.

TCACC presented the following awards:

• Chairman of the Board Award went to Baran Schultz of Schultz Technology, Pottstown.
• Chamber Commitment Award went to the TCACC Executive Committee for their dedication and commitment during the pandemic:
  • Rich Newell, Board Chair – Pottstown Hospital Tower Health
  • April Barkasi, Chair-Elect – Cedarville Engineering Group, LLC
  • Lisa Lightcap, Treasurer – Tompkins VIST Bank
  • Baran Schultz, Immediate Past Chair – Schultz Technology
  • Joseph K. Koury, Esq., Solicitor – O’Donnell, Weiss & Mattei, P.C.
• Volunteer of the Year Award went to Drew Griffin of Delicious Marketing for his assistance with the marketing and promotion of the Chamber’s podcast, Chamber Chat, and other initiatives.
• Chamber Champion Award went to Montgomery County Community College for providing a home for Leadership TriCounty and partnering with Chamber Chat.
• Making a Difference Award went to every chamber member in attendance.

This year’s keynote speaker was Johnny Quinn, U.S. Olympian (bobsled) whose speech, “Think Like an Olympian,” focused on persistence and positivity through challenges. Johnny talked about his journey starting as an NFL receiver and the many setbacks he experienced. However, he did not give up but continued to seek opportunities, including training for the 2014 Olympics as part of the bobsled team.

The evening concluded with a dessert buffet, 50/50 and door prizes. The proceeds were used for the Richard L. Graver FBLA Scholarship in memory of the late Rich Graver, former Chamber Chair and a strong supporter of the Boyertown community.
