Montgomery County Community College (MCCC) will be hosting an online Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Career Forum on Monday, Feb. 1, from 12:15 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. via Zoom. The free forum is open to students and the community.
The CPA Career Forum will feature Mike Colgan, CEO and Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA). He will be discussing the many diverse opportunities available to CPAs, the CPA exam and what is required and networking and scholarship opportunities available through the Pennsylvania CPA Foundation.
PICPA supports CPAs and future CPAs by providing education, networking, leadership and volunteer opportunities. The PICPA’s PA CPA Foundation has resources for high school and college students, recent graduates and educators on accounting and finance topics that will help students discover their next steps. The foundation is proud to support community college students as they progress along their career paths.
MCCC offers an Associate of Applied Science degree in accounting that prepares students for employment in an accounting department in a variety of clerical and bookkeeping positions. The program also prepares students for national certification exams to gain additional credentials that certify proficiency in payroll, bookkeeping and QuickBooks.
Through MCCC’s University Center partnership with Albright College, students have the opportunity to earn their Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting on MCCC’s Blue Bell and Pottstown campuses.
