Montgomery County Community College is pleased to announce that Dr. Gloria Oikelome has been appointed as Interim Vice President of Academic Affairs and Dean of Health Sciences. During her past year with MCCC, Dr. Oikelome has demonstrated a commitment to academic excellence, support for faculty and a passion for student success.

Dr. Oikelome brings more than 15 years of higher education experience to the interim role, including teaching experience in the disciplines of biology, microbiology, nutrition and biomedicine. She has a strong background in assessment, accreditation and evaluation, having served in academic leadership roles at institutions including Reading Area Community College, Lincoln University and the University of York (Hull York Medical School) in the United Kingdom. 

Dr. Oikelome earned a B.S. in Biology from Bethel University, an M.S. in Cell & Molecular Biology/Science Education from Long Island University, a Post-graduate Certificate in Program & Institutional Assessment and an Ed.D. in Higher Education Administration, both from Immaculata University.

During Dr. Oikelome’s interim appointment, Dr. Lianne Hartman, Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs, will serve as an additional point of contact for the Health Sciences division.
