Montgomery County Community College has partnered with the University of the Sciences’ Philadelphia College of Pharmacy to offer a comprehensive 50-hour training program to prepare individuals to become pharmacy technicians.

This 50-hour Pharmacy Technician Program prepares individuals to take the national Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE).  To accommodate full-time employees who may be considering a career change, the program will be held from 6-9:30 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday evenings, from February 19 to April 4 at MCCC’s Health Sciences Center, Central Campus, 340 DeKalb Pike, Blue Bell.

To learn more about the program, interested persons can attend the information session on Wednesday, Jan. 30, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in room 2901 of the Health Sciences Center. To register, contact Bernadette DeBias at 610-718-1967 or bdebias@mc3.edu.

MCCC and USciences have relationships with employers including CVS Health, which accepts this program as an educational component of their Pennsylvania Department of Labor registered Pharmacy Technician Apprentice program. CVS Health, one of the largest healthcare organizations in the country, works directly with MCCC to place students in 150-hour externships, or clinical experiences to give students the experience they need to obtain a job.  Other externship opportunities may be available in acute care settings in Montgomery County.
