Montgomery County Community College (MCCC) is pleased to announce that Jay Browning has been appointed Vice President for Advancement. In this position, he will serve as the liaison to the College’s Foundation and Alumni Relations and will be responsible for the leadership and planning of a comprehensive advancement program for the College.
“Jay’s fundraising and leadership expertise will help to expand the College’s advancement programs and strengthen our relationships with alumni and community partners,” said Dr. Kevin Pollock, MCCC President. “He will be an asset to our dedicated leadership team, and we look forward to working together, supporting student success and serving the needs of the community.”
Browning is an accomplished advancement professional with more than 20 years of leadership development experience in both higher education and not-for-profit organizations, including the University of Cincinnati Foundation, Cabrini University, University of Maryland, Florida Atlantic University, Penn State University, Central Florida Speech and Hearing Center and Big Brothers Big Sisters. Most recently, he was a principal consultant and owner of Browning Advisors LLC, a professional development and leadership training firm.
Over the span of his career, Browning has efficaciously led numerous advancement teams through successful fundraising campaigns. During his tenure at the University of Cincinnati, Browning participated in the leadership of four comprehensive campaigns totaling approximately $1.5 billion. He also increased the annual gift planning from $11 million to more than $30 million. At Cabrini, he reorganized the advancement department and led a 200% increase in annual fundraising. At the University of Maryland where he was responsible for a 19-member department, he led the successful completion of a $26 million capital campaign.

Prior to starting his development career, Browning served in the U.S. Marine Corps on active duty for more than 14 years. Following a medical discharge, he served as a sworn law enforcement officer, holding several leadership positions.
Browning holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Penn State University and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Maryland University College. He is a Certified Fund Raising Executive.
