Explore your Future as a CNC Operator!
This CNC program offers a certificate of completion for aspiring Machinist CNC Operators, teaching essential skills like blueprint reading, tool identification, and CNC mill operations. The program is divided into two levels: Level 1 focuses on basic CNC machine operations and safety, while Level 2 builds on these skills, introducing manual CNC programming and advanced setup techniques. Graduates are prepared for entry-level positions in manufacturing and precision machining industries. A third level is coming soon.
Machinist CNC Operator Level 1:
This program will provide the knowledge and hands-on skills to operate a Computerized Numeric Control (CNC) program for a CNC machine in a manufacturing environment. The course will cover the basic operations of a CNC machine, set-up of tooling and fixtures, measurement, materials, safety precautions and procedures, quality inspection, maintenance, and troubleshooting. By the end of Level 1, students will be able to load a pre-written program to the CNC Machine and run it.
Machinist CNC Operator Level 2:
Level 2 will build on the foundational skills and safety knowledge of the Level 1
Course, including reading blueprints and enhancing measuring skills. Students will
have the opportunity to refine operating and set-up skills, with an introduction to
manually creating CNC programs on both mills and lathes. This refined hands-on training
program prepares students for entry-level positions within manufacturing and precision
machining industries. The course is aligned with NIMS Machining standards.
Prerequisites: CNC Machine Operator – Level 1, must be taken prior to this course (or instructor
permission based on previous experience)
By the end of this course, students will be writing a manual program and running it on the CNC.
Machinist CNC Programming – Level 3 – coming soon!
