Students of The Culinary Arts Institute (CAI) of Montgomery County Community College are eager to share their culinary and hospitality skills with the community at CAI’s student-run Bistro 1400 restaurant.
Bistro 1400 reopened on Nov. 29 to serve an a la carte style lunch featuring an array of delicious appetizers, entrees and desserts – all carefully prepared, plated and served by culinary students. Students use fresh, local ingredients to create their dishes from scratch, including such specialties as house-smoked trout and Moroccan lamb. The Bistro 1400 menu is available online and may be subject to change.
Bistro 1400 will be open Monday through Thursday, from now through Dec. 20, except for Dec. 14, when it is closed. Seating times are 11:30 a.m., 11:45 a.m., noon, 12:15 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. Reservations are required. To reserve your seat, please email CAI Resource Specialist Can Uslu at cuslu@mc3.edu. The restaurant is located on the first floor of CAI at 1400 Forty Foot Road, Lansdale. Free parking is available at the site.
MCCC opened Bistro 1400 in March 2015 to provide hands-on opportunities for students to learn the soft skills of operating a business, including customer service, management and problem-solving skills. Revenue from the business helps to support the Culinary Arts programs and curricular activities for students.
