Our Dr. Stuart H. & Sandra K. Fine Nursing Program combines the art and science of nursing to create caring professional nurses who demonstrate critical thinking and the ability to care for patients across the lifespan in a variety of healthcare settings. Classes take place at our Blue Bell Campus in the state-of-the-art Health Sciences Center and combine theory with practical application. You'll gain experience with both in the classroom, clinical environments and at our Simulation and Skills Suite.
Program Outcomes
Graduates are prepared to complete the National Council Licensing Examination–Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN®). You may also seamlessly transfer your registered nurse (RN) degree to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. Those with a bachelor’s degree in another discipline may be eligible to enter an RN to Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program.
- Incorporate nursing knowledge to meet health care needs in clients of diverse communities across the lifespan.
- Demonstrate clinical reasoning and judgment using the nursing process, in the delivery of safe effective evidence-based care in a variety of environments.
- Utilize professional communication, promote inter-professional teamwork, and collaboration to achieve quality client care while recognizing differences and preserving self-worth.

If you're interested in applying to the Dr. Stuart H. & Sandra K. Fine Nursing Program you must attend an information session for nursing and meet the special admissions requirements. Admission to the program's clinical component is highly competitive and based on student grades and results on the TEAS exam.
Indicating nursing as a major on the College's application does not indicate automatic acceptance into the clinical component of the program.

Coronavirus update
While the College does not mandate the COVID-19 vaccine for students, most of the clinical agencies require it and all recommended boosters for nursing students, with zero exemptions. Students who do not receive the vaccine or boosters may not be able to progress through the program. For those pursuing admission to the program, please take this into careful consideration.

LPN to RN Admissions
The Dr. Stuart H. & Sandra K. Fine Nursing Program welcomes licensed LPN’s as advanced standing students annually based on the number of interested students. There are two options for programs of study for LPN’s. The first option is to enter using the same pathway as our traditional students. The second is an advanced standing track (described below).
Admission Criteria
- Graduate of an accredited Practical Nurse Program
- Hold an unencumbered licensure as a practical nurse from the Commonwealth of PA
- High School Diploma or equivalent on file at the college
- Submit LPN transcript and any college transcripts.
- Must meet one of the following:
- Option 1
- Placement into Anatomy and Physiology I (BIO 131)
- TEAS® composite score of 75% or greater
- TEAS® Reading Comprehension score of 75% or greater
- Option 2
- “B” or better in BIO 131, BIO 132 or BIO 140
- TEAS® composite score of 65% or greater
- TEAS® Reading Comprehension score of 75% or greater
- Option 1
Advanced standing students, who are licensed LPNs, take NUR-107-Introduction to Professional Nursing: Concepts for Transitioning to Practice provided and must meet the admission criteria prior to enrolling in NUR-107. NUR-107 must be taken within one year prior to entering the clinical component of the Dr. Stuart H. & Sandra K. Fine Nursing Program.
You will have 6 semesters to complete the Dr. Stuart H. & Sandra K. Fine Nursing Program from the date of enrollment in the first NUR course.
Special Admission Requirements
The Dr. Stuart H. & Sandra K. Fine Nursing Program may be completed on a full- or part-time basis. You may be admitted to the program as either a standard admission or an advanced standing admission student.
- Standard admission students are those without a nursing license and have not attended another nursing program.
- Advanced standing students are those that are licensed LPN’s or have attended another nursing program and are transferring in good academic standing to Montco's Dr. Stuart H. & Sandra K. Fine Nursing Program.
Admission selection occurs three times each academic year (fall, spring and summer) using an Intent to Register and randomization process. To be considered for standard admission randomization, you must complete an Intent to Register form and submit by the following dates:
- Fall semester: Forms will be available on March 1st and must be received by May 31 at 11:59 p.m.
- Spring semester: Forms will be available on June 1st and must be received by September 30 at 11:59 p.m.
- Summer session: Forms will be available on October 1st must be received by February 28 at 11:59 p.m.
Students who apply to the College and indicate Nursing as a major, must meet specific admission criteria to enter the clinical component of the Dr. Stuart H. & Sandra K. Fine Nursing Program. Declaring nursing as a major does not indicate automatic acceptance into the clinical component of the Dr. Stuart H. & Sandra K. Fine Nursing Program. If you wish to be considered for admission to the clinical component of the program, you must present credentials in accordance with the following admission requirements.
How to Register for NUR-108: Introduction to Concepts of Nursing
The College offers three open registration periods each year (Fall, Spring, Summer). If you are interested in registering for NUR-108: Introduction to Concepts of Nursing, you must complete the NUR-108 Intent to Register form.
- All pre-requisites and requirements for NUR-108 must be completed before you submit the form or you will not be eligible to register for the course.
- Admission is based on a randomization process based on clinical site availability.
The Dr. Stuart H. & Sandra K. Fine Nursing Program does not carry over waitlisted applicants to the next open registration period. If you do not receive a seat in the course for the period you applied for, you must complete a new Intent to Register form during the next registration cycle.

To take the TEAS® exam and to attend the Dr. Stuart H. & Sandra K. Fine Nursing Program, you will need access to the following:
- A laptop or desktop computer (no tablets or Chromebooks)
- A webcam
- A microphone
- Interested students may only take the TEAS exam twice a year.
