Purpose
This program will prepare individuals who opt to take an industry certification exam.
Program Description
In this new and expanded 100-hour Personal Trainer program students will be taught the theory of personal training related to anatomy, kinesiology, physiology, fitness assessment and testing, exercise selection and program design and policies and procedures. The class stresses practical knowledge and the ability to apply it to many situations including special populations. A written and practical exam will be given the last week of class as a way to demonstrate proficiency in the skills learned. A required 30-hour internship is included as a means to practice these skills and proficiencies, as well as CPR training and certification. This format of instruction stresses more practical and hands on learning.
Primary Goals
Program is designed to provide students with the required industry training through classroom, hands-on, CPR training and internship experience in preparation to take an advance certification exam.
Consideration for Industry Certification
Upon successful completion, students may opt to take an industry certification exam.
