At The Culinary Arts Institute, you get the best of both worlds: a well-rounded curriculum that sets the foundation for your learning, combined with a progressive approach that prepares you for the real world. You'll not only learn how to cook like a pro, you'll learn the business end of the industry.
The basic ingredients—our programs—are the measures for your success
From certificates to associate's degrees, we've got a full plate of programs at The Culinary Arts Institute. Our combination of classroom learning with hands-on, lab-based training and a professional externship will prep you for whatever career path you choose.
If you're not sure whether you want to pursue a career in Culinary or in Baking & Pastry, that's okay. You've got a lot of options to choose from:
At The Culinary Arts Institute, there are never too many cooks in the kitchen! That's because our student/teacher ratio is an impressive 18:1. You're guaranteed individualized attention from experienced instructors who've worn many hats in addition to their chef's hats.
The Culinary Arts program includes:
At The Culinary Arts Institute, we know that presentation is key, whether it's the food on the plate or the chefs in the kitchen. Our student uniforms consist of a traditional chef coat (with front and thermometer side pockets, and the CAI logo above the breast pocket), chef pants and chef hat.
You also need the proper tools in order to succeed in the hands-on classes. The Director has personally compiled a Culinary and Baking & Pastry set that includes all the basics, from chef's knives to measuring cups and spoons to kitchen shears and more. We've also put together a baking set, with all the utensils you need for completing your coursework and launching your career.
These and other items, such as aprons, side towels, neckerchiefs and textbooks, can be purchased at our Central Campus Bookstore or at mc3central.bncollege.com.
