Sound Recording Technology I (SRT 250)

This course introduces students to the theory and practice of sound recording technology and music production. Students are introduced to sound recording and engineering techniques including multi-track music recording, mixing, editing, and signal processing. Emphasis is placed on the procedures and processes of preparing for and carrying out a basic production from start to finish. Students act as the sound engineer and embody other production roles. Students work to expand their aesthetic understanding, analyze sound through engineering, mixing and participate in a series of critical listening workshops. This course is subject to a course fee.
