Priority Registration

Priority Registration allows current students who have completed a specified number of credit hours to register before students who have completed fewer credit hours. Priority Registration is also available to Veteran students as defined under the PA Higher Education Course Scheduling Preference for Veteran Students Act. (For more information visit the Veteran Resource Center page.) Registration is controlled by date and based on "total earned credits." Please see the chart below detailing the number of credits that must be earned (completed) in order to register on the specified date.

Our priority registration system supports one primary goal: helping you reach your dreams faster. The more total credits you've earned, the sooner you get to register! Through priority registration, you can:

  • take advantage of counseling options and services before registering
  • maximize your course enrollment options
  • increase the odds that you'll complete your degree or program of study on time so you can get started on your future

Registration DatesThe MyMC3 Student Portal will show your allowed registration date based upon completed credits. The registration system will assign you to specific dates based on your total credits earned. Once your assigned date arrives you will be able to register, and then the registration system will remain open to you from that point forward and allow you to make schedule changes until registration for the semester ends. Please refer to the calendar below for important dates regarding registration.

"Total earned credits" are the number of credits you have actually completed. The following do not count toward total earned credits: courses in progress (courses must be graded to be considered complete), developmental courses (those with course numbers that are under 100), repeated courses (only one counts, if successful), audited courses or courses with grades of I (Incomplete), F (Fail) or NG (Not Graded). Transfer credits do count, but transcripts must be received by September 15 for spring semester priority registration and by February 15 for summer/fall priority registration to allow time for them to be reviewed.
You may look up your total earned credits by logging into the MyMC3 Student Portal. You will then need to click on WebAdvisor, select Academic Profile and then Transcript. Choose Undergraduate Transcript and hit Submit. Your "Total Earned Credits" will appear at the bottom of the page.
We encourage you to make an appointment with an advisor/counselor in the Student Success Center to prepare for registration.
