Test Information

GED testing is only administered as a computer-based assessment. In striving to provide more adult learners throughout the county with a high school equivalent credential, Montgomery County Community College is partnering with GED Testing Service® to offer the GED® test on computer. The computerized test offers test-takers a better testing experience, featuring

  • 24/7 registration and scheduling online
  • finish one section, move on to the next at your own pace

All registrations, testing times, locations and payment with credit card are completed by conveniently visiting the website www.myged.com. Testing is currently available at the following campus location.

Requirements to Take the GED® Test

To meet eligibility requirements to take the GED® test, individuals must

  • Be a resident of Pennsylvania
  • Have not graduated from high school or are not a recipient of a school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • Are not currently enrolled in a public, licensed private or cyber secondary school program
  • Must be able to provide a social security card and a current Pennsylvania identification card or driver's license
  • Must be at least 18 years and older, or for 16- and 17-year-old participants meet specific additional qualifications

Cost of Test

The cost to take the GED is $120 for the entire test or $30 for each section. You are not required to take all sections of the test on the same day. You can register for and take each section separately.
