Montgomery County Community College offers academic instruction at the Pottstown campus for those individuals interested in receiving additional preparation before taking the GED® test. Since 2006, this accelerated program has assisted over 850 students in successfully passing the GED® test and planning their next steps toward furthering their academic and career opportunities. With the current changes in the 2014 GED testing assessment and procedures, the College is equipped with the latest technology and instruction necessary to assist students in preparing for the new testing process.
The College has partnered with Montgomery County Workforce Investment Board to make this program possible for eligible county residents. Scholarships are available to those students meeting specific low-income requirements.
GED preparation classes, currently held only at our Pottstown campus, are scheduled in an accelerated six-week format throughout the year. Students in the prep class will take the GED as part of the prep class. Class times are
- Day classes — Monday through Friday from 10 AM to 2 PM
Evening classes — Monday through Thursday from 4 PM to 9 PM
Individuals interested in attending the prep class are required to participate in an orientation session on the program eligibility and admission requirements.
