The GED® test has been designed to align with the academic skills and abilities of the current high school standards, including 12th grade. By successfully passing your GED® test you will have demonstrated competencies in the four content areas of the exam.
New Scoring System
The improved scoring system offers two score levels.
- GED® Passing Score: at or higher than the minimum needed to demonstrate high school equivalency-level skills and abilities
- GED® Passing Score with Honors: at or higher than the minimum needed to demonstrate career- and college-readiness (CCR)
Everyone who successfully meets the scoring requirements established by the state of Pennsylvania will receive a Commonwealth of Pennsylvania diploma from the Department of Education, which is equivalent to a high school diploma. This diploma is accepted, by law, as a legitimate high school diploma by business, industry, colleges, and most branches of the armed services.
