Biotechnology Workshop for High School Students

Join us for this incredible experience! The BIOMAN Academy is hosted by Montgomery County Community College and taught by industry experts Dr. Maggie Bryans, Assistant Professor of Biotechnology and Biology and Matt Marshall, Program Manager of the Northeast Biomanufacturing Center and Collaborative.

STUDENTS WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO

  • Perform hands-on experiments on industry-grade biotechnology equipment
  • Manipulate DNA & purify proteins
  • Grow bacterial and mammalian cells
  • Learn about careers in biotechnology

REGISTRATION DETAILS

  • Free for high school students
  • Open to 12 rising sophomores, juniors and seniors who have taken at least one biology course
  • Breakfast and lunch will be provided each day
  • A $25 deposit is required to reserve a spot
  • Participation in all four days is required
