The Adobe InDesign course is designed for students seeking a career in Desktop Publishing. Target students include those who want to prepare for careers in desktop design, computer graphics and multi-media.
This hands-on course will train students in using this easy-to-use page layout program, which is growing in popularity among corporate and publishing industry users. Designed for both Windows and MAC, this course will cover the basics of using the InDesign software to create publications like newsletters, ads, and flyers. Desktop publishing topics include basic design, graphics use and basic typography. A student would learn the basics of using Page Maker; will be able to design simple newsletters, advertisements, and publications; add graphics and fonts; and be able to edit the documents. Graphic types, draw versus bitmap, editing graphics, drawing graphics, design elements, creating and using your logo, and repetitive elements.
This short 12-hour program covers the fundamentals of using InDesign software to teach students how to design and create vibrant newsletters, advertisements, and publications. The program covers familiarization with the advanced tools available in InDesign and using them to create and edit typo graphics for use in publications. This will help students that are looking at careers in Desktop Publishing or existing professionals that want to upgrade their skill sets.
