The community is invited to a Coach Purse Bingo fundraiser on Wednesday, April 18, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Spring Mill Ballroom, 1210 East Hector Street, Conshohocken, to help create a scholarship in memory of the late Brenda Martin, a dental hygienist and assistant professor in the Dental Hygiene program at Montgomery County Community College.

The doors will open at 6 p.m. and bingo starts at 6:30 p.m. Each player will receive 15 bingo cards for $35. The prizes include an array of donated Coach bags. There will also be a raffle for one of these designer handbags. Sodas and water will be provided, and guests may bring snacks or dinner with them. Friends are welcome.

The funds will be used to support dental hygiene students’ participation in professional conferences.

Brenda had an illustrious career in dental hygiene as an educator, leader, industry salesperson, and practitioner, said Jenny Sheaffer, director of MCCC’s Dental Hygiene program. She was a full-time faculty member at MCCC’s Dental Hygiene program for six years. Prior to that, she was a full-time faculty member at Thomas Jefferson University. She served as the president of the Pennsylvania Dental Hygienists’ Association in 1990-91.
