Budding artists from Berks, Chester and Montgomery Counties will exhibit their multi-media creations during the Fourth Annual Tri-County High School Art Show from February 15 to March 24 at the Fine Arts Gallery on the West Campus of Montgomery County Community College at 16 High Street in Pottstown, Pa.
The juried show will include about 70 pieces representing paintings, drawings, photography, ceramics, textiles and installation art by more than 59 artists representing nine different high schools in the region including Downingtown East High School, The Hill School, The Perkiomen School, Perkiomen Valley High School, Pottsgrove High School, Pottstown High School, Spring-Ford High School, Unionville High School and Upper Merion High School.
A reception and awards ceremony featuring the artists will be held on Wednesday, February 15 from 5 to 7 p.m.
Area high schools were permitted to submit up to eight works selected by art teachers at those schools. The creations were then juried by Erika Hornburg-Cooper, co-founder and executive director of ArtFusion 19464, a non-profit community art center in Pottstown.
“I am continuously impressed with the creativity of our region’s young artists, and the pieces in this show are no exception,” Hornburg-Cooper said. “These works exhibit a broad range of self-expression and a level of quality that will leave patrons inspired by and proud of what our youth have to offer the art world.”
The social media hashtag for the show is #mcccarts.
