June 13, 2016, Blue Bell, Pa.--Your Way Home Montgomery County, a public-private partnership between County government, regional grant makers, service providers and community partners, will come together for the 4th Annual Your Way Home Montgomery County Summit on Wednesday, June 22 from 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The summit will be held in the Science Center Theater at Montgomery County Community College's Central Campus, 340 DeKalb Pike, Blue Bell.
The Your Way Home Annual Summit is a community celebration of our progress in ending and preventing homelessness in Montgomery County over the past year as well as an exploration of the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. This year we are proudly celebrating the receipt of a prestigious U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Secretary’s Award for Public-Private Partnerships presented in partnership with Council on Foundations.
Launched in January 2014, Your Way Home is Montgomery County’s housing crisis response system, focused on coordinating, leveraging and maximizing the impact of public and private resources to end homelessness. Your Way Home has increased the percentage of homeless residents moving directly from homelessness to permanent housing from 31 percent in 2013, the year before Your Way Home launched, to 46 percent in 2015.
This year’s Summit will feature nationally-recognized speakers Steve Berg, Vice President for Programs and Policy from the National Alliance to End Homelessness, and Fred Karnas, Senior Fellow from the Kresge Foundation, both of whom will speak about national trends and best practices for ending homelessness from their unique perspectives as thought leaders in the field.
Your Way Home will also be presenting three Champions for Change Awards recognizing the outstanding contributions to our cause from key individuals across different sectors of our partnership. This year’s Champions for Change are: Meredith Huffman, Executive Director of the Genuardi Family Foundation; Bob Larkin, Landlord, Greater Pottstown area; and Zach Costello, Street Outreach Supervisor, Resources for Human Development.
Your Way Home is a public-private partnership that helps working and low-income individuals and families end or prevent their homelessness. For more information, visit yourwayhome.org.
